Joan Prowse graduated from Exeter College of Art and Design (now Plymouth University) as a three-dimensional designer-maker specialising in furniture but has been creating artwork ever since she can remember. Living for 3 years in France, she had her first one-woman exhibition and returned to the UK at the age of 30, working on private commissions until 2013 when she became a full-time artist. Creating "Peace in the Valley" (the Lion and Lamb 4ft square) in the same year opened many doors and new exhibition and teaching opportunities and she began the journey into the world of textiles.
Nine years later she has become a leading artist stretching the limits and possibilities of creating in wool, along with other mediums.
